How Breeding Works - Breeding Power Explained

Each Pal has a Breeding Power (BP). In the current dataset, values range from 1 to 2970. Standard breeding averages the two parents' BP values and selects the Pal whose BP is closest to that average. A matching special combo overrides that result.

To breed in game, build a Breeding Farm, assign one male and one female Pal, and place Cake in the farm's cake box. Breeding pauses when the farm runs out of Cake.

Breeding Power Examples

These examples are generated from the same engine used by the calculator above:

Parent AParent BAverage BPChild
Vanwyrm Cryst BP 620 Penking BP 520 570 Anubis BP 570 - Exact BP match
Beakon BP 220 Azurmane BP 400 310 Jormuntide BP 310 - Exact BP match
Jormuntide BP 310 Blazehowl BP 710 510 Jormuntide Ignis BP 315 - Special combo override

If no Pal has a BP exactly equal to the average, the engine chooses the closest value. Special combinations are checked first and can produce a child whose BP is far from the parents' average. See the Breeding Guide for the full in-game workflow.

Frequently Asked Questions - Palworld Breeding

How does the Palworld breeding calculator work?
Each Pal has a Breeding Power (BP) value. In this dataset, BP runs from 1 to 2970. Standard breeding averages the parents' BP values and selects the closest Pal. A matching special combo takes priority over that calculation. Species results are deterministic; passive skills and IVs are separate breeding outcomes.
Does Penking + Bushi make Anubis?
No. In the current dataset, Penking (BP 520) + Bushi (BP 640) averages 580 and produces Incineram Noct. For Anubis, the calculator currently uses Vanwyrm Cryst + Penking.
How do I breed Anubis in Palworld?
Vanwyrm Cryst (BP 620) + Penking (BP 520) produces Anubis (BP 570). The average is 570, an exact BP match. Use the calculator above to test more parent pairs.
How do I breed Shadowbeak?
Frostallion Noct (BP 100) + Hartalis (BP 20) produces Shadowbeak (BP 60). The pair is an exact BP match in the current data.
How do I breed Orserk?
Reptyro Cryst (BP 230) + Suzaku (BP 50) produces Orserk (BP 140). The parents' average is 140, an exact BP match.
How do special breeding combinations work?
The calculator checks special combinations before the normal BP calculation. For example, Jormuntide + Blazehowl has an average of 510, but it produces Jormuntide Ignis (BP 315) because it is a special combo.
Can I reverse-search all parents for a target Pal?
Yes. Choose a target with Find combos, then use the As a Child tab. The calculator checks parent pairs against the same helper used by the normal parent-to-child result.
What happens when no parent average exactly matches a Pal?
The standard rule chooses the Pal whose BP is closest to the parents' average. For example, Beakon (BP 220) + Azurmane (BP 400) has an average of 310 and produces Jormuntide (BP 310).
Are breeding results random in this calculator?
The calculated species is deterministic for a given parent pair and dataset. In game, species follows the breeding result, while the offspring's gender, passive skills, and IVs can vary.
What data does the calculator use?
The page uses a 299-Pal BP dataset for Palworld 1.0 and 53 special combinations. Static examples, routes, and FAQ answers are regenerated from this engine so they do not drift away from the interactive calculator.
